Who knew when when you started googling "find a therapist near me" that you would find so many therapists in Worcester. And yet, sometimes it can feel like they are all saying the same thing. How do you find someone who truly meets your needs and understands what YOU are all about?

Hi! I'm Meghan, a therapist in Worcester with over 20 years of experience

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) specializing in anxiety counseling, relationship and couples therapy, stress management, and supporting adults through major life transitions. I became a therapist because I deeply love helping individuals and couples who are struggling with anxiety, stress, burnout, and life transitions while working to build and maintain healthy relationships.

My clients tell me they appreciate my collaborative, authentic approach and my ability to use humor to connect while addressing difficult topics. Many have found relief from chronic anxiety, learned to navigate conflict without shutting down, and rebuilt trust and connection in their relationships.

My approach to therapy

I believe that when we have empathy for ourselves and understand our own patterns, we have an opportunity to make change, to heal, and to work toward being our best selves. In turn, we have more space to be empathic in our relationships and shift unhelpful patterns into healthier ways of interacting in the world.

I work best with adults who are ready to do the hard work of change: people who want more than just to vent, but are willing to explore their patterns, experiment with new ways of engaging, and commit to building the life and relationships they truly desire. Whether you're navigating anxiety that's impacting your daily life, feeling disconnected in your relationship, or facing a major life transition, I can help you move from feeling stuck to feeling empowered.

My training and credentials

I received my Master of Social Work degree (MSW) from Simmons School of Social Work in 2005. I am board certified through the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and trained in evidence-based practices, including:

• Couples Therapy

• Family Systems Therapy

• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

• Mindfulness

• Dialectical Behavior Therapy

• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

Outside of the therapy office

My approach to therapy extends beyond the office. I believe in holistic well-being. I love gardening and being in nature, whether that be kayaking, hiking, or being at the beach. Spending time in nature helps me feel more grounded, mindful, and connected with myself. I am also a Reiki Master and provide Reiki for my family and friends. These practices inform how I show up in the therapy room: present, grounded, and connected.

I know it can feel like a big step to call a therapist, but I'll make it easy.

We'll spend 15 minutes on the phone, and I'll let you know how or if I can help. If I am not the right person, I'll do my best to get you to the right person.
